The ATS Billet Output Shaft for Ford (1989-03) E4OD & 4R100 7.3L Power Stroke is compatible with 4x4 transmissions and certain 2WD transmissions. Ford offered two 2WD variants: one with a slip yoke requiring a different output shaft, and another featuring a bolt-on yoke. The latter includes a 2WD adaptor at the rear, where a transfer case would typically attach, utilizing the same style of output shaft as the 4x4 version.
